This camp was a little different as I took up a different role. (Group leader > Floater)
As I was not able to commit to the test runs of the camp due to being overseas, I decided to be responsible and sign up for a role that was more suited to my schedule.
Being a floater in camp made me realize that all roles and position assign to an individual in camp is equally important. Everyone has a part to play in camp, regardless of age or gender.
It was a fun experience with newfound friendships and working with people from different departments and had I not went overseas, I might not have an opportunity to interact with people from the other departments due to the heavy workload of a group leader.
All in all, I learned that being a floater is not just about filling someone else's spot when they are unavailable or helping with ma stuff. It is about assurance, letting people know that you can be depended on and you will always be ready to cover them should the needs arise. Thus, floater have an important role and job scope of making sure things in camps run even more smoothly.
