In this blog post I'll tell you more about the two industry talks I have attended during my 2 weeks break. The first talk being an outreach session organised by SGTech's Cyber Security Chapter and the send was the Cyber Ethics talk by the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Outreach session held at Singapore Institute of Management (SIM)

The nature of this talk educates and promotes awareness of the need for cyber security professionals in the field. This talk is beneficial to me and my peers as students currently studying in Information Security, it allows us to have a first-hand approach to the changing climates of the cyber security sector.
I came into a realization that one should join the cyber security sector only if they have a profound interest in upgrading themselves and keeping up to date to the current technologies as cyber security jobs are genuinely demanding and sophisticated.
Only through continual updates with the threats of the cyber world can one stay relevant and be ready to respond to those that abuse the systems.
Hence, I believe that as cyber security professionals, it is important to have the right mindset.
The Cyber Ethics talk by the Singapore Police Force SPF

The nature of the industry talk that I attended was to elevate the awareness of current cyber crimes happening around the world. The speaker shared briefly the types of cyber crimes and preventive measures on how to handle them if the need arises.
The Cyber Ethics talk by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) is enriching and beneficial to me as being a student in the cyber security field, I am now more aware of the digital devices that we use daily.
I learnt that digital devices as such might seem harmless and secure most of the time, but we do not know what danger lies within it.
Therefore, we should always be vigilant and keep up to date to the security aspect of technology as such.
